In 2025, Dotan let go of the expectations that had long defined his self-image. The musician has learnt to accept both the light and the darkness within himself, complete with all the shades in between. This development informs his new songs, which he describes as an unfiltered portrait of his current phase of life.

His upcoming new album will be his fifth, but for him it feels more like a second debut, he says. This openness goes hand in hand with a new-found self-image: For the first time, he is allowing himself to be proud of what he has created while at the same time freeing himself from self-definition through the approval of others.

In autumn 2025, Dotan finished his A Bigger Light In The Dark Tour with a sold-out show at AFAS Live in Amsterdam. His single Last Goodbyes, released shortly before that concert, is a song about holding on to memories of people or moments that have shaped your life. Its acoustic timbres, soaring melodies and warm folk influences encapsulate both intimacy and grandeur.

For Dotan, song is the bridge between two key phases of life, like a musical transition that paves the way for the next chapter.

His European Solo Acoustic Tour brings this artistic development to the stage: concerts in which Dotan puts his voice and guitar centre stage and gives his songs the space they deserve.
