Great lieder, lots of fun. The format is upcycled from the “song battles” that were popular in 2021. The submissions from the lieder duos are scrutinised and assessed by a preliminary jury comprising mezzo-soprano Anna-Doris Capitelli, soprana Andromahi Raptis, pianist Jonathan Ware and artistic director Tom Wilmersdörffer.

Everyone attending the event gets to decide who receives the audience award – which is determined using the highly democratic method of applause levels. The jury award is decided by a jury that includes Johannes Held (artistic director of Liedfestival Sindelfingen), Dorothea Hußlein (music journalist), Max Wagner (Max Wagner, Managing Director of Gasteig München) and Tom Wilmersdörffer.
