The Bach Collegium München has been performing the great Bach oratorios in Munich for decades now. Over the years, it has collaborated with renowned amateur choirs, such as the Bachchor Mainz, the Chorgemeinschaft Neubeuern and the Münchener Bach-Chor.
Starting in the 2019/2020 concert season, the Bach Collegium München decided to establish a professional choir of highly talented vocal students as part of a collaboration with the three Bavarian music academies in Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg, and to perform the sacred music of the Thomaskantor and other composers as the Chor & Orchester Bach Collegium München. The establishment of the choir is supported by the prestigious Münchener Konzertverein e.V., which is thus making an outstanding contribution to the promotion of highly talented individuals.
