The sound of the guitar today. Two chairs, two guitars and two microphones – that’s all guitarists Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian need to woo their audience. On the new GuitarRevolution Symphonic tour, they will present traditional works and original compositions together with the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt.

Two musicians, seemingly unable to find their place within the system, meet by chance at a workshop. Though very different, they immediately click and decide to pursue their common dream: to showcase their instrument, the Andalusian flamenco guitar, to audiences throughout the world. There follows a decade of hard work, carving out a niche for themselves.

In their artistic personalities, they are like chalk and cheese: Alexander Kilian, regarded a child prodigy, gifted virtuoso, extrovert, awards under his belt and known at times to skip and jump across the chairs; and Jan Pascal, a poet, eloquent, sensitive, with a feel for the melodies of life. A concert by Café del Mundo is an experience par excellence, an encounter, a tribute to the love of life, to the connection between everything and everyone and to the pure joy of the moment – in short: guitartainment.

The breakthrough came during the pandemic with their very own sensitive yet energy-laden arrangements of pop and film score classics. Viva la Vida received 1.5 million views almost as soon as it went online, while Una Mattina has over 120 million views on Instagram. Soon, concert invitations around the globe followed.

Judging by their 2023 album, Symphonic, The GuitarRevolution Symphonic tour promises to be a unique mix of great rock and pop hits as well as traditional works and original compositions.
