BRSO: Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisandeconducted by Sir Simon Rattle
First performed in Paris in 1902, the opera Pelléas et Mélisande is based on the play of the same name by Maurice Maeterlinck and tells the tragic story of two half-brothers, Golaud and Pelléas, and Mélisande, whom they are both in love with. This night, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform the opera in concert form, featuring vocal soloists and conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
