On his forthcoming album, Fourteen Reveries, to be released on Nonesuch Records, Mehldau explores the inner world of experience that we create from within our own consciousness, independently of others.
Inspired by a similar idea to that behind his April 2020 suite, Fourteen Reveries is a meditation on the space a composer leaves open between specific instructions; a space in which the beauty of the music can unfold while also leaving room for new discoveries.
