Nordic soundscapes, vast and poetic: the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra performs the music of Edvard Grieg. Alexander Malofeev performs the famous piano concerto with a richly nuanced sensitivity, whilst excerpts from Peer Gynt evoke myths, nature and Scandinavian melancholy.

Back in 2019, Alexander Malofeev wowed audiences at the renowned classical music festival La Folle Journée in Nantes. At the tender age of 17, he impressed the audience with his great expressiveness and flawless technique whilst performing with the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky. The live recording of the concert attracted attention far beyond the concert hall: following its broadcast on TV station ARTE, it has racked up more than a million views on Alexander Malofeev’s YouTube channel.

Now, eight years later, Malofeev will perform the same work at the Isarphilharmonie. Together with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, he brings the soundscapes of the North to the concert hall in a very much authentic way.
