Jörg Hegemann lives in Witten and plays “classic” boogie woogie – the piano style, pure and unadulterated, played in 1930s and 40s Chicago and New York by pianists such as Meade Lux Lewis, Pete Johnson and Albert Ammons. Requiring supreme precision and virtuosity, pianists who are willing to master this style are few and far between. Jörg Hegemann is one of them. Which is presumably why he can be heard at piano festivals across the length and breadth of Europe.

Vintage blues & boogie pianist Christian Christl is known beyond the borders of Europe and has appeared at many major festivals. He has performed in the USA, France, Hungary, the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Australia.

An evening of handmade music and plenty of riveting stories about blues and boogie.
