Bartolomeo Fortino-Shields

The Italian-American violinist attracted international attention at an early age. He was sponsored by Love²Arts Management in Antwerp and the Sheva Collection in London and was a finalist in the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition. Concert appearances have taken him to New York’s Kaufman Music Centre, the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome and Munich’s Gasteig HP8.

At the age of 14 he was accepted into Sally Thomas’ violin class at the Juilliard School. This was followed by a Master of Music at the Peabody Institute with Judith Ingolfsson and an Advanced Diploma at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo e Torino with Sonig Tchakerian.

William Belpassi

Born in Rome in 1996, William Belpassi began studying piano at an early age and graduated with honors from the “G. Briccialdi” Conservatory in Terni. He continued his studies at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Andrea Lucchesini and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, where he studied chamber music with Ivan Rabaglia. He has performed for institutions such as Amici della Musica di Firenze, Roma Tre Orchestra and Filarmonica Umbra, as well as internationally, including appearances at the State Opera Stara Zagora and the Schiermonnikoog Festival. As co-founder of the GATE Duo, he released the debut album “Remembranza” (BAM Records) in 2023. He has received several prizes in competitions and was awarded a scholarship from the Cecilia Gilardi Foundation in 2018.

Unfortunately, pianist Ermanno Bemporad De Stefani is unable to perform as originally announced due to health reasons and will be replaced by William Belpassi. The evening’s programme has also been adjusted accordingly.
