Space meets sound: Bach in Space – Voices makes its debut at the Isarphilharmonie, taking Bach to new heights. Stunning NASA and ESA images of galaxies, nebulae and our home planet are accompanied by the powerful sounds of the Munich Bach Choir and Orchestra. The images and music merge to take us on a gripping journey through space and time – at times overwhelming, at times calm, yet always surprisingly intimate. From its very first performances, Bach in Space captivated audiences and the press alike: “The Munich audience is visibly spellbound throughout the performance – by the vastness and depth of the crystal-clear, high-definition images, by the carefully curated selection from Bach’s repertoire, by the precise execution” (Kultur in München).
Wielding the baton will be Howard Arman, who will take over as the ensemble’s artistic director as of the 2026/27 season. The internationally renowned British conductor and choir director is known for his stylistic clarity and depth of sound. “It is an honour for me to lead these distinguished ensembles and to help develop their artistic influence,” said Arman.
