The International Documentary Film Festival Munich celebrates its 40th anniversary. An exhibition accompanying the festival shows impressions and festival posters from previous editions. The the documentary film festival has been bringing people together in Munich since 1985, touching, amusing and enlightening festivalgoers along the way. A catalyst for intercultural exchange, empathy and education on many levels, it contributes to strengthening our basic democratic values. Each year, a host of outstanding international films, riveting film discussions and a comprehensive supporting programme provide insights into a plethora of diverse worlds and stories.
DOK.fest München has been a factor in shaping Munich for 40 years now, as the city has shaped the festival: people, fashion, venues and infrastructure are reflected in the 60 exhibited photographs by the festival photographers and the design of the many festival posters.
The exhibition opens on 29 April 2025.
