The Arcis saxophone quartet’s experimental concert format enters its second round. There are two teams consisting of a choreographer and two dancers: Each team develops a 20-minute choreography to the same music played by the same quartet but working completely independently of each other.

The stakes are high, as the same rules apply to all:

  1. The teams have five days to create their performance.
  2. The music for both choreographies is the same.
  3. The teams receive the music only five days before the start of rehearsals.
  4. The musicians are part of the scene.
  5. No props and costumes are provided – the performers must find their own.

The two choreographies will be performed one after the other, highlighting the choreographers’ different approaches and creative processes. In a panel discussion, the audience will gain an insight into the motives behind the two choreographers’ artistic decisions.

  • Choreographers: Roberta Pisu, Matteo Carvone
  • Dancers: Clara Cafiero, Erica D’Amico
  • Music: Arcis Saxophon Quartett
